COMMINITY ENGAGEMENTS

School of Agriculture and Applied Sciences (SAAS)

The School of Agriculture and Applied Sciences organized the International Student Challenge on the Honey Value Chain, which involved students from Bugema University and the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. The challenge attracted stakeholders from the private sector, NGOs, CBOs, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF). It provided a platform for problem-solving and innovation within the honey sector, contributing to sustainable agricultural practices. In addition, SAAS launched Collaborative Learning Ecosystem (CLE) Partnerships that brought together over 15 industry and private sector partners. These collaborations created opportunities for joint training, innovation projects, internships, and industrial attachments for students. This strengthened university–industry linkages while enhancing the employability and relevance of graduates.
